Simulation

The integration of the forest growth simulation is implemented as follows:
A tree list is generated in ArcGIS Pro and transfered to the simulation server via a simple REST interface. The tree growth is predicted for 10 or 50 years with help of the forest growth models

• SILVA 2.2 (Professorship of Tree Growth and Wood Physiology)
• iLand 2 (Chair of Ecosystem Dynamics and Forest Management in Mountain Landscapes)

on the simulation server. A new tree list is returned to ArcGIS and joined to the tree point layer. Trees of a single simulation period (5 yeares) are displayed by enabeling Time.

Currently selected trees can be passed to the Simulation. These could be the ones that remain after a thinning operation. This gives the possibility to simulate how changes of the forest structure depend on the removed trees.

The simulation with iLand can be performed in one of our computer games.
